What Do I Need to Do to Vote?

You must include your full and correct e-mail in your entry. If you do not use your correct e-mail we won’t be able to contact you if you win.

How Do I Vote?

To vote, find your favorite picture with your favorite caption, and click the Squawks option just below the picture. Tell us in 10 to 50 words why it’s your favorite picture and/or caption. Entries that are fewer than 10 words or more than 50 cannot be considered.

When Can I Vote?

The contest runs between 12:01 am EASTERN November 1 and ends at midnight EASTERN November 30. We will be using the times supplied automatically by the site. We cannot accept votes before or after these times.

But I Want to Comment on a Picture!

You are certainly welcome to comment (squawk) on any of the pictures you like whenever you like. But for your comment to be counted as a vote it must contain your full and correct e-mail, be between 10 and 50 words long, and be posted between November 1 and 30.

How Many Times Can I Vote?

You may vote one time for one picture and caption. For example, you may like a picture of an amazon but prefer the caption that accompanies a macaw – you’ll need to choose one or the other because you will only have one vote. If we determine you have voted more than once we will not count any of your votes.

My Parrot is the Cutest of Them All! Can I Vote for Him?

You may vote for any of the pictures on the site. It is perfectly all right to vote for a picture you’ve submitted. It’s also okay to bribe ask your friends to vote for your picture.

How Will You Decide Who Wins?

Entries will be judged on originality and the number of votes per picture and caption. In case of a tie, winners will be determined by the entries that were sent in first.

What Do I Win?

There will be three cash prizes: $20 for first place, $10 for second, and $5 for third (hey, we said it was very little cash!). Payment of prizes will be made via PayPal only, which is another reason you need to include your full and correct e-mail address.

Will You Share the Winning Entries?

Winners’ names and entries will be published on superiorparrot.com, and we will notify winners individually by e-mail. Did we mention you must include your full and correct e-mail address in your entry? We will post your first name and first letter of your last name; we won’t publish your e-mail address since you probably already get more spam than anyone else on the internet.
